Alton, Illinois.:VNA-TIP HomeCare announces the acquisition of
Hospital Home Care and Luke Memorial Hospice divisions of Pinckneyville
Community Hospital. This acquisition strengthens VNA-TIPs position as one of
the Midwests largest providers of Medicare-certified home health and hospice
services. It also assures Pinckneyville residents and those in surrounding
communities that they will continue to receive the quality care they have come
to expect from Hospital Home Care and Luke Memorial Hospice. Pinckneyville
Community Hospital chose to divest itself of the home health and hospice
operations as it moves forward with plans to build a new hospital. Hospital
Home Care began providing service in 1990 and serves patients within a 40-mile
radius of Pinckneyville. The hospice began operations in 1992 and was named
Luke Memorial Hospice in 2003 in honor of deceased hospice director Gerre
Luke. Hospital Home Care has provided quality services to area residents
for many years, according to Gary Liebscher, VNA-TIP President. We are pleased
to be able to acquire such a fine operation and to be able to retain the staff
members who are so well known and respected in the community. Hospital Home
Care and VNA-TIP were both named to the Home Care Elite listing for 2007, so
there is a good fit between our operations. Patients should expect to have the
same nurses and therapists providing the same high quality care. Barbara
Brand, RN, has been manager of Hospital Home Care and Luke Memorial Hospice
since 1992. She will continue as manager with VNA-TIP. The offices will be
located on the west side of the square in space formerly occupied by the
hospitals billing department. :p>VNA-TIP HomeCare has a history dating back to the
1917 founding of the VNA of Alton/Wood River. The agency has grown with the
acquisitions of the Visiting Nurse Association of Illinois in 1999, TIP Home
Health Services in 2001, and St. Elizabeths Home Health Service of Belleville
in 2007, as well as many smaller home health and hospice agencies.
:p>VNA-TIP HomeCare now has 13 home health offices
in Illinois, including Belleville, Benton, Carlyle, Centralia, Marion, and
Murphysboro. There are also 4 branch locations in eastern Missouri. The agency
provides skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech
therapy, medical social services, home health aides, and IV infusions under
doctors orders in patients homes. TIP Hospice has 7 Illinois offices and 4

homes and nursing homes by a team of nurses, nurse aides, social workers,
